Our doctor

Dr Millicent Hlatshwayo

Dr Sebayitseng Millicent Hlatshwayo is a qualified medical doctor with more than 17 years of experience in the health industry. She obtained her MBChB and a BSc, majoring in biochemistry, chemistry and psychology, at the Medical University of South Africa, and has worked in hospitals across Gauteng and internationally.

Travel medicine has been a focus of her work for more than a decade: she has run the O.R. Tambo International Airport Travel Clinic since 2013. She is a director of Meneli Medicals, and has also served as clinical manager at Arwyp Medical Centre.

Dr Hlatshwayo also brings experience in clinical governance and healthcare administration. She was appointed chairperson of the Government Employees Medical Scheme (GEMS) Board of Trustees in September 2019, and during her time on the board chaired its Clinical Governance and Administration Committee and served on its Human Resources and Remuneration Committee. She also consults for the Government Pensions Administration Agency (GPAA).
